Marshall's Personhood Bill Passes House of Delegates
Manassas Park, Manassas delegate behind a house bill that has some applauding and others upset.
A bill that defines life as beginning at conception passed in the Virginia House of Delegates Tuesday, according to a Richmond Times-Dispatch report.
The house passed the legislation in a 62-32 vote.
Republican Del. Bob Marshall, who newly represents Manassas Park, Manassas and parts of Prince William County, sponsored the bill.

Marshall's House Bill 1, if passed, would extend the rights of "personhood" to an human embryo at the very moment of conception—something that has many raising ire, according to a Washington Post report.

The newspaper also reports that the House of Delegates passed a bill 63-36 that would make it mandatory for women seeking abortions to undergo the insertion of vaginal ultrasound probes before the procedure.
