Police 'Nearly Struck' by Vehicle in Felony Eluding Case

The following information comes from the City of Manassas police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned it does not indicate a conviction.

A Manassas man faces charges of felony eluding, reckless driving and two counts of attempted malicious wounding of a law enforcement officer following a disturbance on Sept. 21. Manassas City police said that two officers were on foot patrol investigating a "disturbance" in the area of Stevens Court and Confederate Trail at 10:30 p.m. when they were "nearly struck by a vehicle fleeing the area."  "The officers had identified themselves as police and commanded the driver of the vehicle to stop," said a press release from the department. "The driver ignored their commands and accelerated toward them. The officers were able to get out of the way of the vehicle before it struck them." Plasma Cutter, Tires Reported Missing from Manassas Business

Anyone with information is urged to call the anonymous Crime Solvers' tip line.

Several tires and a plasma cutter were reported missing from Drew Transport overnight between Sept. 20 and 21. A manager reported to the City of Manassas police that the burglarly happened between 7 p.m. on Thursday and 7 a.m. on Friday. Police believe forced entry was made through a hole in back wall at 8305 Quarry Rd.   Anyone with information about this burglary is encouraged to call the Crime Solvers’ anonymous tip line at (703) 330-0330, or to call the Manassas City Police Department Investigative Services Division at (703) 257-8092. Crime Blotter: Gaming Console, Laptop Stolen From Keara Court Home

The incident occurred on Sept. 14, between 3:15 p.m. and 3:45 p.m.

Prince William County Police reports from Monday said that a someone allegedly entered through the rear door of a home on the 7700 block of Keara Court in Manassas on Sept. 14 and stole several electronic items. A gaming console, a laptop, and other items valued at $1,800 were reported missing said Officer Jonathan Perok, of the Prince William County Police Department, said in a news release. Police Looking for Two in Backpack Armed Robbery

Teen reported he was assaulted by two unknown men.

Prince William County Police are on the lookout for two Hispanic males that allegedly took a teen's backpack on Sept. 8.  A 16-year-old Manassas male told police that he was walking in the 7800 block of Garner Drive when he was approached by two unknown men. "One of the men displayed a knife while the other assaulted the victim," said a Prince William County Police press release. "The men took the victim's backpack before fleeing on foot."  Police responded to Garner Drive at 1:35 a.m. on Sept. 8. The teen reported minor injuries.  Both men are said to be between 17 and 20 years old, according to police reports.  Police reports said the men are between 5-foot-10 to 6-feet-tall of medium build.

Two-Year Prostitution Investigation Yields 9 Arrests

One subject still wanted in conjunction with alleged brothel

Detectives from the Prince William County Police Department and agents from Homeland Security Investigations, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Customs & Border Protection wrapped up a two-year investigation into an alleged Manassas brothel on Aug. 23 with nine arrests. Police said the alleged brothel establishment was located in the 10000 block of Grant Avenue in Manassas.  Prince William County Police are still looking for another person wanted in this case, Elisio Barraza Gomez, 43. Gomez, of Manassas, is described as a Hispanic male, 5-foot-7, 250 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. Gomez is charged with maintaining a bawdy place. Three-Car Accident Kills Woman, Family Dog

A Warrenton woman has been charged with driving under the influence and aggravated involuntary manslaughter.

A Warrenton woman has been charged with driving under the influence, DUI-related aggravated involuntary manslaughter and maiming by DUI after a three-car accident claimed one human life this weekend. Prince William County Police public information officer Jonathan Perok said that police responded to Dumfries Road (Route 234) and Brentsville Road—where the Prince William County Parkway south and east intersect—at 10:27 p.m. Saturday for a crash. Perok said an investigation revealed Lori Love Shipe (also known as Lori Lynn Love), 52, of Warrenton was driving a 1999 Lexus RX300 northbound on Dumfries Road when she allegedly disregarded a red light and struck a 2008 Ford Focus occupied by a front passenger and a driver.
