Manassas Park Police to Get Six New Vehicles

Council approved an expenditure of $372,000 for the lease-purchase of the six police cars.

Manassas Park City Council approved the expenditure of $372,000 for the lease-purchase of six new patrol vehicles for the city’s police department. Manassas Park Police Chief John Evans told the body on Tuesday that the vehicles, three Ford Explorers and three Ford police patrol cars, would replace six aging cruisers that are eight to 10 years old and well past their service life. The money would come from department’s narcotics seizures fund and would be paid in three yearly installments under a state contract to Sheehy Ford in Richmond.
