Start The New Year With Facebook’s Timeline

Facebook has finally rolled out its timeline to everyone, so take time with your friends and family to tell your story.

The end of a year is always a time of reflection, which is what Facebook’s new Timeline feature seems to be about.  You can preview how your Timeline will look by logging in at the introductory site. Once you activate the Timeline on your page, you have seven days to prepare how it will appear and update missing or incorrect information. You can choose a banner image, add significant dates, photos and decide what to share and with whom.  All of your privacy settings remain the same when you start a Timeline. You can set up groups so that things you might want to share with your family can be kept away from your work contacts or only share some things with your closest friends. Pay attention to your settings for photos that you share or …

Hi Tiffany, It is in the shopping plaza behind Round Robin at the corner of Signal Hill Road and Liberia avenue. It's kinda in a nook in the middle of the plaza-you can't see the sign that well from the roadway, especially if you are driving, but it's in there with Lovely Beauty Supply, Happy Eatery Cakes (or something like that) Gold's Gym a cleaners and some other stuff. Hope this helps!   more ›

UPDATED: Manassas Park Schools to get $250,000 From State, Enacts Bullying Prevention Month

The Manassas Park School Board passed a resolution to make January Bullying Prevention Month and is expected to get $250,000 in state funding by the end of the school year.

Manassas Park City Schools are expected to receive an additional $250,000 in state funding, the school board learned at its meeting on Monday. Virginia provides funding based on the school system’s ADM (average daily membership), or average number of students attending on a daily basis, according to Krista Kelly, Manassas Park Schools’ financial director.  Manassas Park has about 2,857 students attending, and if those levels are kept, about $250,000 will be given in increments through the end of the school year. The schools were originally budgeted with an ADM of about 3,000, so they will receive slightly less than originally anticipated.  “Even though we have an increase in the amount that we believe will be receiving based on our budget…

Get The Gift Of Gadget Training

The new Microsoft store offers training to take you to the next level

Microsoft opened its 14th location this month in Tysons Corner Center, joining Apple and Sony in providing full-service stores that offer computer systems, accessories, the Xbox 360 gaming console, software, phones and probably most importantly the assistance of specialized staff.  What makes these stores so valuable is that you get a higher level of service than what is available from retailers.  Apple has the “Genius Bar” which provides advice and repair information on all of its products. Customers can walk into any Apple store and get assistance or make an appointment to get one-on-one service. The stores serve as both a showroom and a service department. When you purchase a new Apple computer at a retail store or online, you have the …
