Sudley Road Giant Renovated After Centreville Road Location Closes

The Landover, MD-based upgraded and reopened one of its Manassas stores right after closing its Liberia Avenue location.

Less than a month after announcing it would shutter its grocery store on Liberia Avenue and Centreville Road in Manassas, Giant Food Stores announced it had renovated and re-opened its Sudley Road location, less than four miles away. The store, located at 8025 Sudley Rd. in the Westgate Shopping Plaza, held a grand re-opening in November to show off its new features and products. As part of its renovation, the store moved its floral department to the front of the store, revamped its service desk and added a salad bar, said Jamie Miller, a spokesman for the Landover, MD-based grocer. The store also increased its international and ethnic food offerings, including a aisle way dedicated to Hispanic foods and products, he said. There are 30 …

Sprouts and Shutters: What Should Take the Place of the Giant on Centreville Road?

Giant Food Stores officials announced in September that the store at 8819 Centreville Road in Manassas would shutter on Nov. 1.

The Giant Food Store at 8819 Centreville Road near the intersection of Liberia Avenue in Manassas is slated to close in less than a month, Giant officials announced last week.
