Affordable housing continues to be a major topic of discussion in Alexandria. The Virginia Department of Transportation sold Hunting Point, two eight-story apartment buildings, to a realty firm. Alexandria's City Council had asked that any purchaser not turn the buildings into luxury apartments that could displace its current tenants who require more affordable housing. That message was passed on to the new buyers, according to VDOT, but was not a condition of the sale. 19. Update: Fairfax Police Charge Gainesville Man in Death of Manassas Teen

The teen was found Friday in a car crashed near Chain Bridge Road.

 A 22-year-old Gainesville man is in custody in connection with the Friday death of a Manassas teen near Vienna, according to a release issued by Fairfax County Police on Saturday evening. Johnny E. Bonilla of Catharpin Valley Drive was arrested at 4 p.m. Saturday at his home by U.S. Marshals assisted by police from Prince William and Fairfax Counties. Bonilla is charged with murder in connection with the death of 19-year-old Zavier O. Stringfellow of Gales Court in the Manassas area, police said.  Investigators said the victim and the suspect didn't know each prior to Friday but had agreed to meet up that evening. Manassas Man Accused of Accidentally Shooting Friend

Police said the victim and the suspect were in a restaurant in Chantilly when the 22-year-old victim was accidentally shot.

A Manassas man was arrested on Saturday for accidentally shooting a friend while reloading his gun, Fairfax County Police said Monday.  Christopher E. Bohn, 36, is charged with willfully discharging firearms in a public place. Police said he was at a restaurant with the 22-year-old victim and her friends when he reloaded his gun. While doing so he accidentally fired it, striking the victim near her ankle.  Officers responded to 14441 Brookfield Tower Drive in Chantilly around 5:30 p.m. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said. No one else was injured.
