Planning Commission, City Council Set to Meet Tuesday

City Council will decide whether to change land zoned for business use into residential.

 The Manassas Park City Council and its Planning Commission will have a joint public hearing Tuesday night on two separate applications that would pave the way for more than 200 townhouses north of Manassas Drive. The public hearings are slated for 7 p.m. Tuesday in the council chambers at Manassas Park City Hall. The first applicant, Lawrence K. Doll, wants to build 82 townhouses on 6.7 acres on the northwest corner of the intersection of Manassas and Andrew drives. The comprehensive plan, which is a guide for growth, designates the land for commercial uses. Doll also is asking to rezone almost an acre of agricultural zoned land to allow for mixed uses on the property. The land is bordered by Manassas Park Plaza to the east and Belmont …
