Sterling Man to Stand Trial in Shooting of Manassas Park Man

A grand jury indicted Jamie Lee Hunter this month for the October shooting of a Manassas Park man. Hunter is slated to stand trial in June. Charges against Hunter's former co-defendant, Andre Waters of Herndon, are dismissed.

A grand jury indicted a Sterling man accused of gunning down a 22-year-old Manassas Park man in October at a Manassas subdivision. Jamie Lee Hunter, 27, is accused of shooting the victim five times—striking him three times in the right leg, once in the femur and once in the groin—as he sat in his car in the early morning hours of Oct. 12. Hunter, who is charged with malicious wounding, maliciously shooting at an occupied vehicle, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and assault and battery on a law enforcement officer, was indicted on March 5 and is expected to stand trial in circuit court on June 25, according to court documents. A 22-year-old Manassas Park man who was shot five times last October testified in a Manassas courtroom Wednesday that he fears for his life. Jamie Lee Hunter, 27, appeared in a Manassas courtroom Wednesday for a preliminary and probable cause hearing on several charges he faces in connection with the Oct. 12 shooting. The case against Hunter is scheduled to be heard by a grand jury next month. He is charged with malicious wounding, maliciously shooting at an occupied vehicle, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and assault and battery on a law enforcement officer. The judicial cases of two men arrested in connection with the October shooting of a Manassas Park man are continued into February, according to Prince William County Court documents.  Jamie Lee Hunter, 26, of Sterling and Andre Waters of 1317 Monroe St. in Herndon are each charged in connection with an Oct. 12 drug-related shooting in Manassas, Prince William County Police reports show.  A preliminary hearing for Waters on his charges was scheduled for Wednesday morning.  The case was continued until Feb. 22. and he remains out on bail, according to court documents.  Waters is charged with malicious wounding, maliciously shooting at an occupied vehicle, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession with intent to distribute…

Manassas Park Man Shot Multiple Times in Drug-Related Incident

A 22-year-old Manassas Park man was gunned down as he sat in his car this morning in Manassas, according to Prince William County Police reports.

A 22-year-old Manassas Park man was gunned down as he sat in his car this morning in Manassas, according to Prince William County Police reports. It happened at 2:40 a.m. on the 8100 block of Pointer Lane when three men approached the victim. One of the men pulled out a gun and shot the victim multiple times.  The man managed to drive himself to a local hospital where police were called, according to police reports. Police went to the shooting location where they spotted a car with two men inside. One of the men got out the vehicle, shoved one of the police officers and ran away, but was later caught.
