Prince William County Police officer died on New Years Eve. As part of Police Week in Washington, Patch takes a deeper look at police fatalities.
Prince William County Police Officer Chris Yung died while responding to an incident on New Year's Eve. Yung's name was added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial, alongside 19,000 other officers who have been killed in the line of duty. He's one of 127 officers who died in 2012 and are being recognized this week. From postal inspectors to small-town sheriffs, Congress has dedicated the week of May 15 to honoring America's law enforcement officers, especially those killed in the line of duty, each year.
