Prescott House Opens, Manassas Park Schools Convocation, City Purchases Sewer Parts

Manassas Park City Schools is holding a back-to-school convocation today at 3 p.m. in the Manassas Park Middle School Thomas H. DeBolt Auditorium.  There will be a small reception for parents, staff and students after the program. 

The most closely watched house in the city of Manassas will be open for visitors on Saturday. 
The Prescott House is undergoing a massive renovation, thanks to its neighbor who purchased it in June and promises to restore it to its former glory
Hugh Ickrath, the man behind the plan, is hosting an open house Saturday from 12 to 4 p.m. so everyone can see the progress first hand. There is a $5 entry fee, all of which will go to benefit Habitat of Humanity of Prince William County, Manassas and Manassas Park

PFLAG (Parents, Families, Friends of Lesbians and Gays) will host its August picnic Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the courtyard of Bull Run Unitarian Universalist building on Main Street. The group is for people who want to learn how to support and advocate for members of the LGBT community.   

Manassas Park City Council will discuss the purchase of sewer pump station repair parts and the development of Belmont Reserve, a new townhome community coming online this fall at its meeting on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in Manassas Park City Hall. The full Agenda is here.
