Lockheed Martin Engineers to Visit Manassas Park Schools
Engineers will visit Manassas Park Middle School for National Engineers Week Feb. 20-24.
Manassas Park Middle School students are set to receive a visit from Lockheed Martin Engineers on Wednesday in honor of National Engineers Week.
The engineers will talk to the students about their job field and help them with an engineering activity.
Last year, engineers helped Manassas Park Middle School students engineer a "space station" using 10 paper cups.

Teams of students worked together to write out commands for the "robots"—other students—to perform as part of the construction of the space station.
Hands-on, team-oriented activities aimed at meeting requirements, managing constraints and sharing knowledge are all essential skills in engineering disciplines, according to Lockheed Martin.

The activities are designed to kindle and sustain students’ interest in math and science through middle and high school. Lockheed Martin officials said they hope to inspire students to consider engineering studies and careers.
Lockheed Martin engineers will also visit the following Manassas schools: Marsteller Middle School, Mayfield Intermediate and Stonewall Middle School
