Soles4Souls at Madison Crescent Park

REACTION Church in Manassas Virginia hosted a Soles4Souls event on Aug. 20 at Madison Crescent Park in Gainesville and collected over 13,000 pairs of shoes.

Wayne Elsey CEO and Founder was on hand to share with us that Soles4Souls is a Nashville-based charity that collects shoes from the warehouses of footwear companies and the closets of people like you. The charity distributes these shoes to people in need, regardless of race, religion, class, or any other criteria. Since 2005, Soles4Souls has given away over 14 million pairs of new and gently worn shoes (currently donating one pair every 7 seconds.)

It was a perfect day for the event. Sun was shining and everyone was having a great time. Sponsors of the event where on hand to provide information about their company and talk about the various shoes they collected. We had music and everyone was having fun dancing with the Chick-fil-A cow. Miss Liberty Tax made everyone laugh as she gave the cow a big fat kiss. Eggspectation was handing out samples of their dessert crepes while Desiderio Italian-American Grill provide freshly made cannolli's.

At the end of the day there was a true sense of accomplishment knowing that over 13,000 people will soon have shoes on their feet.

As a Realtor in the community it was a privilege to be a sponsor of this wonderful event. With the help of of our friends, family and PW Chamber partners we were able to collect over 317 pairs of shoes. The video highlights some of the various shoes collected as well as clips from the event.
