Summer in the City: National Night Out is Aug. 6

National Night Out is always the first Tuesday in August.

Sultry summer temperatures won't stop the masses from coming out to Signal Hill Park on Aug. 6 to enjoy National Night Out.

The annual event is a way for residents and law enforcement to build camaraderie and trust, and show their dedication to fighting crime.

Manassas Park's National Night Out—attended by some 3,000 people in 2012—  promises a free feast of summer favorites and plethora of educational displays put on by local, state and federal law enforcement agencies, area businesses and social services.

The event begins at 5 and lasts until 9 p.m. Everyone is invited.
For more information or to donate goods or money to the event, contact Manassas Park Police Officer William "Quiz" Quesenberry at W.Quesenberry@manassasparkva.gov or by calling 703-361-1136.
