Severe Thunderstorm Watch in Effect for Manassas, Prince William County

The watch is in effect until 1 a.m. Friday.

Manassas Park and Northern Virginia are under a severe thunderstorm watch until 1 a.m. Friday morning.

"Some thunderstorms will be capable of producing damaging wind gusts and large hail," a National Weather Service alert read.

A small craft advisory is also in effect this evening for the waters in the Washington, D.C. area.

In Manassas Park, the hourly forecast shows only partly cloudy skies, with a chance of rain hovering around 15 percent. However, there is a higher chance of scattered thunderstorms on Friday afternoon.
