Low-Cost Activities, Programs for Area Teens in Manassas Park
Teen Membership Offers Access to Gym, Pool, Classes, Fun Programs and More.
Release:
The City of Manassas Park has a two-word solution for teens with hours of time to fill and looking for something to do – Teen Passport. This program provides a variety of safe and exciting activities, events and classes for both city and non-city residents in grades 6 through 12 (ages 12-17). **
The Teen Passport membership ($20/month) offers access to the City’s Community Center, all of its facilities and teen programs – including the gym, pool, recreational programs, instructional classes and more.
Members can also hang out in the Teen Center – a lounge area with computers, a flat screen TV, Wii, Xbox, and foosball and pool tables. The Teen Center hours are Tuesday through Friday, 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Saturdays, 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Each month, Teen Passport members have opportunities to earn points toward a free or reduced month’s membership. Good grades, volunteering and community service are ways in which points can be earned. Teens without a Passport membership can take advantage of the Community Center facilities, programs and classes for a $2/day drop-in rate.
For more information, call the Community Center at 703-335-8872 or e-mail Recreation Services Supervisor Tony Thomas at t.thomas@manassasparkva.gov or visit the Parks and Recreation Department website at ManassasParkCommunityCenter.com.
Passport membership includes transportation from Manassas Park high school and middle school to the Community Center.
** Individuals who are above 17 years old and/or currently enrolled in high school with a valid high school ID are also eligible for the Teen Passport.
