Drum Lines to Battle at Anytime Fitness Grand Opening

Manassas Park's first and only 24 hour fitness center will celebrate its grand opening Saturday, June. 2.

The grand opening on Saturday is going to be one like no other, owner Roger Yelvington said.

The 24-hour fitness center on Andrew Drive in Manassas Park opened in February, but is celebrating its grand opening with a ribbon cutting and a fun-filled day of events on Saturday, June 2.

Anytime Fitness is already up to 400 members, but Yelvington said he wanted to involve the entire city in the celebration of its success.

“I’ve been really pleased,” he said. “This event will stir up a lot of buzz. It’s going to be a lot of fun and it’s for the community.”

The drum lines from the and bands will battle it out in the parking lot of Anytime Fitness Center as part of the Saturday's entertainment.

For every band supporter who joins Anytime Fitness, the gym will donate money to that high school band program, Yelvington said. The gym will offer the lowest membership prices on Saturday.

A DJ will be playing hit music during the event and food from Anytime Fitness neighbors, and Pizza Spot will be on hand.

Free Zumba classes will be going on all day, as well as free health assessments by Anytime Fitness personal trainers.

Here is a full schedule of Saturday’s events:

10 a.m.: Kick off, vendors set up for the day's events

11 a.m.: Prince William County Chamber of Commence ribbon cutting ceremony

12:30 p.m.: Cookout begins (sponsored by Clarkes and Pizza Spot)

1 p.m.: Raffle drawing

2 p.m.: Second raffle drawing

2:30 p.m.: Main event: drum line competition featuring Osbourn Park and Manassas Park high schools

3:30 p.m.: Drum line winner announced and grand prize drawing held
