Lady Cougars Open District Tournament With Win
The Manassas Park girls basketball team won its first-round game against Rappahannock County High School Friday.
Manassas Park High School came away with a big win the opening round of the Bull Run District Tournament, beating Rappahannock High School 57-52 on Friday.
The win was extra sweet for the Lady Cougars. They lost the first-round earlier this week when they had home court advantage against Rappahannock County.
“The girls came back and played hard and determined after losing home court to Rappahannock on Wednesday,” said Manassas Park head coach Doug West.

According to West, Manassas Park’s next opponent in the Bull Run Tournament will be tough, but said he believes his team will give them all they can handle.
“We have the privilege of taking on the two-time defending state champion George Mason High School at their place,” he said.
The game will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 15.
