Patch: What are your interests outside of school?

MC: I enjoy going to my youth group at my church. It’s lots of fun and a lot of my friends are in it with me.

OF: My interests outside of school are hanging out with friends, exercising and just relaxing.

Patch: What got you into wrestling?

MC: When I started high school, my friends started to wrestle. They talked me into doing it with them, and I’ve loved it ever since.

OF: When I was in 8th grade, I wanted to be a professional wrestler. So, I thought getting into wrestling would help me become a professional some day, but instead it turned into a love for wrestling.

Patch: Do you play any other sports other than wrestling?

MC: I play football and some baseball.

OF: I do Brazilian Jui Jitsu and Muay Thai because I want to be an MMA [Mixed Martial Arts] fighter later on in life.

Patch: How do you balance school with wrestling?

MC: I balance both things by staying focused and always knowing what my grades are. I make sure to get all my work done after practice so I never fall behind in school.

OF: It’s pretty tough, but in order to stay on the team I need to keep my grades in good condition. But I have to do my best to do all of my work right after practice so I get enough rest for the next day.

Patch: What is your role on the team?

MC: My role on the team is to be a leader and set an example for the other wrestlers.

OF: My role on the team is also to be a leader. I need to push myself and push the team as well. If there’s no leader to push the rest of the team, they’ll cheat themselves out of improving.

Patch: What motivates you or pumps you up when you’re about to wrestle, or when you’re at practice?

MC: Getting my hand raised at the end of a match motivates me to win and do well in practice.

OF: My desire to be a champion; I always keep that in mind. The speeches that the coaches give [always] makes me rethink about how much I really want to become the best.

Patch: Who is your role model?

MC: My role model would have to be Drew Brees of the [New Orleans] Saints because he’s amazing on and off the field.

OF: There is an MMA fighter named George St. Pierre. Every time he steps into the Octagon, he always improves and he always pushes himself during training.

Patch: What are your plans after high school?

MC: After high school I plan to go to the United States Naval Academy and possibly wrestle there.

OF: I want to go to college and continue to wrestle.
