Strasburg Tops Manassas Park in Wrestling Tournament
The teams met on the mat on Saturday in Strasburg.
Strasburg High pulled out a win over Manassas Park High Saturday in the Region B Wrestling Tournament at Strasburg High School.
The top four tournament placers advanced to the state match up.
"I thought we did about as well as we could have with the kids we had. Robbie (Ratchford) did an outstanding job and I'm sure that he would be a state qualifier if he would have wrestled in any other region," Manassas Park Coach Mike Payne said. "Our 113 pounder decided to not make weight for the second day and it cost us valuable points that we needed to win the tournament. In spite of the set back, I thought we managed to stay focused and wrestled well."
