School Board Reaches Out to the Community
The Manassas Park School Board wants parents to offer feedback on possible budget cuts.
School board members spent much of their Monday night meeting plotting the best way to reach out to community parents. With the upcoming budget calling for cuts in spending, board members want to know what programs or amenities parents are willing to give up and how to cause existing programs to run more efficiently.
Dr. Bruce McDade, Manassas Park superintendent and the members of the school board brainstormed about the best way to ask parents in a public forum what they would like to see offered in the school system.
During the next two months, board members will attend school functions, PTO activities and events at the community center to reach as many parents in the community as possible before the proposed budget cuts are voted on in the spring.
