Manassas Park High Swim Team Competes in Inaugural Meet

The Manassas Park High School Varsity swim team competed in its first meet in history Saturday.

The Manassas Park High School Varsity swim team competed in its first meet in history on Saturday.

The team took part in the Bull Run District Relay Carnival held at the Manassas Park Community Center.

While some team members have swam in other competitive matches, the carnival was the first meet ever for half of the team, Sam Olbes, Manassas Park High Varsity Swim coach, said.

One MPHS boys' relay team placed first during the Men's 400 Yard IM 4 x 100 IM Relay. That relay team was comprised of Thomas Smith, David Hanggi, Justin Sheard and Daniel Smith. 

"As our coaching and swim team debuts, we have learned so much from this experience and are looking forward to our next meet on Dec. 10," Olbes said.
