Polk Will Continue to Serve as Manassas Park Vice Mayor

Bryan Polk was elected to a third term on city council in November.

Three-term councilman and lifelong Manassas Park resident Bryan Polk will continue to serve as vice mayor of city council.

All council members—with the exception of Polk, who abstained—voted in favor of his appointment Tuesday at the governing body’s first meeting of the year.

Mayor Frank Jones said that Polk has been a huge help by filling in when he is absent.

“Thanks for all you have done and for taking it on again,” Councilman Keith Miller said after the vote. “I know it’s a lot of extra work.

After winning election to a third term on Manassas Park City Council in November, Polk said he’s ready to spend the next four years taking on economic development in the city.

Polk received 1,032 at precinct 1, 946 at precinct 2 and 282 absentee votes for a total of 2,260 on Election Day, Manassas Park voter registrar Patricia Brendel said. Of the 7,164 registered voters in Manassas Park, 4,663 voted in November.

Polk is married and is the father of a son and a daughter.
