The last day to register to vote in the Nov. 6 election is Monday, Virginia State Election Board officials said.
It is also the last day for registered voters to change the name or address on their voting cards.
Voter registrations can be downloaded from the website sbe.virginia.gov or found at any voter registrar or Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles Office.
Registrations sent by mail must be postmarked Oct. 15 at 5 p.m. at the latest, state election officials said.
Voters submitting their registration to local registrar offices should allow more time for registration processing because the offices are very busy this time of year.
Absentee ballots can also be obtained for a local registrar's office or the sbe.virginia.gov.
Nov. 3 is the last day absentee applications can be completed in person at the registar’s office.
Applications sent via mail or fax must be by the registrar by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30.
Absentee applicants must supply a reason for voting absentee.
The registration and voting deadline for military and military dependent voters using the Federal Write-In Absentee ballot (FWAB) is Nov. 6.
Absentee ballots are final. Absentee voters can't change their minds and vote a second time, state election officials said.
