City to Host Landmark Town Hall Meeting Today

Manassas Park officials and city council along with Manassas Park City Schools administrators and board members to participate in town hall meeting at community center today at 7 p.m.

Manassas Park City Council, school board members and school division officials will all be in one place Tuesday for a special town hall meeting at the Manassas Park Community Center.

City officials said it is a unique opportunity for all Manassas Park residents to meet and ask questions of  their lawmakers and those ultimately responsible for the education of Manassas Park children. 

Manassas Park City Manager Jim Zumwalt said he plans to introduce all the city department heads in his, "Bang for the Buck" presentation which provides an explanation of what each department within the city's government offers.

Manassas Park City Schools Superintendent Dr. Bruce McDade will also present the details of the newly-approved .

He encouraged all parents and teachers to attend the event, McDade said Monday at the school board meeting.

"This is a unique opportunity that has never been done before," McDade said during the meeting.

Governing body members and school division officials will be at different stations where parents and residents can wander about, asking them questions and making suggestions.

The town hall is expected to begin at 7 p.m. and last until about 8:30 p.m. according to city officials.
