Accused Manassas White Supremacist Indicted by Grand Jury

Police said Manassas resident Douglas Howard Story gave an undercover agent his AK-47 and $125 so it could be converted into an automatic weapon.

A Manassas resident who authorities call a white supremacist who hated black political figures like the United States President and the Attorney General, was indicted by a federal grand jury on gun charges.

Douglas Howard Story, 48, is charged with making a firearm in violation of the National Firearms Act, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Eastern District of Virginia.

An indictment is a document containing allegations made by prosecutors in the case and aren’t necessarily fact.

A grand jury convenes in secret and decides if the allegations are plausible enough to go forward with the case.

On May 30, he met the agent in the parking lot of shopping center on Sudley Road in Manassas to pick up the modified weapon, investigators said.

Authorities began investigating Story after he allegedly posted on an Aryan Nation website that he was preparing to buy the modified AK-47 to, “ambush and murder” law enforcement should martial law ever be enacted in the U.S.

Prosecutors say the suspect hated and supported the idea of violence toward President Barack Obama and U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, who are both black.

Story, using the screen name, “Confederate Brother," also made statements on several white supremacy online forums that he hated minorities, according to federal prosecutors.

If convicted, Story could serve a maximum of 10 years in prison, federal authorities said.
