Teenager Shot While Trying to Disarm Robber

Police dispatched a K-9 to try and find the suspect, but were unable to catch him.

Prince William County Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly shot a teenager in the arm after trying unsuccessfully to rob him.

Police responded to a report of a shooting at 5:53 p.m. Wednesday. The two victims, aged 19 and 21, reported that an unknown masked man approached them as they were walking in the Manassas area, near Gateshead Lane and Sudley Manor Drive.

The suspect pulled out a handgun and demanded property, police said, but the 19-year-old fought back. As he tried to disarm the suspect, the gun went off and struck him in the arm. The suspect then fled on foot. Nothing was stolen. Police used a K-9 to try to track down the robber, but was unsuccessful.
