Suspicious Note Suspect Identified in Manassas

Manassas Police: Suspect, 21, has mental disability and not currently facing charges.

The suspect in a four-month string of suspicious notes left at Manassas area homes has been identified, but is not currently expected to face charges, according to Manassas Police.

Detectives with Manassas City and Prince William County interviewed the young man, 21, after a tip from the PWCPD Crime Analysis Unit, according to Manassas Police spokesperson Sgt. Lowell Nevill.

Between December and March, there were approximately 20 incidents that seemed to be related, including notes left at homes, along with suspicious activity and vandalism.

The man, whose name was not released by police, reportedly admitted to responsibility for all the suspicious and threatening notes left between December 2012 and March 2013, according to Nevill.
