Suspects in Shooting of Manassas Park Man to Appear in Court in Feb.

 Jamie Lee Hunter, 26, of Sterling and Andre Waters of 1317 Monroe St. in Herndon are each charged in connection with an Oct. 12 drug-related shooting in Manassas, Prince William County Police reports show.

 A preliminary hearing for Waters on his charges was scheduled for Wednesday morning.  The case was continued until Feb. 22. and he remains out on bail, according to court documents.

Waters is charged with malicious wounding, maliciously shooting at an occupied vehicle, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession with intent to distribute marijuana in connection with the shooting.

 Waters also faces misdemeanor reckless driving charges stemming from an incident that happened on Nov. 25, more than a month after the shooting, according to general district court documents.

 He is scheduled to appear in court on those charges on Jan. 17.

 Hunter was also scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday. His case is continued until Jan. 25, according to court documents. He is charged with malicious wounding, maliciously shooting at an occupied vehicle, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, assault and battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest and possession with intent to distribute marijuana, in connection with the shooting.

He, too, remains out on bail.

 Police say Hunter and Waters were involved in an incident that happened on Oct. 12 at 2:40 a.m. on the 8100 block of Pointer Lane in Manassas where three men approached the victim. One of the men pulled out a gun and shot the victim multiple times. 

The man managed to drive himself to a local hospital where police were called, according to police reports.

Police went to the shooting location where they spotted a car with two men inside.

Investigators said Hunter got out the vehicle, shoved one of the police officers and ran away, but was later caught.

Police said Waters was arrested inside the vehicle.

Police said in October the victim is expected to recovered from his injuries, but his current condition isn’t known.
