Second Pickpocketing Suspect Arrested

Police say Spotsylvania resident Aaron Lester is one of two people who picked the pockets of an elderly man in Manassas Park and then used his credit cards to make purchases.

Police have arrested a second suspect in connection with a pickpocketing incident involving an elderly man in Manassas Park in May.

Aaron Lester of Spotsylvania was apprehended Saturday in a mobile home park off Centreville Road by Manassas City Police, Manassas Park Police Det. Regan Miller said.

Police arrested Chris Kiser of Manassas last week in connection with the same crime. Kiser is charged with grand larceny, Miller said.

One of the suspects said he was 90-cents short on his purchase at the store, and asked the victim for cash to make up the difference, Manassas Park Police reports show.

The victim went out to his car to get the money and realized his wallet was missing when he came back inside.

The victim later told police he remembered feeling something brush his pants pocket, but didn't think anything of it at the time.

The two suspects ran away before the victim could return with the change.

Police later discovered the victim's credit cards were used to make purchases at Wal-Mart.

Both suspects are expected to appear in court in July.
