PWC Police: Minors' Joyride Ends After Car Crashes into Home

Five suspects left a juvenile shelter in Manassas, stole a car and led police on a intra-county pursuit before crashing the car in Dale City, Prince William Police said.

A group of juveniles left an emergency shelter in Manassas early Tuesday morning and went joyriding in a stolen vehicle, according to the Prince William County Police. They led officers on a car chase that ended with the car crashing into a Dale City home on the other side of the county.

It started just after midnight Tuesday when witnesses told police four girls and one boy left the Molinari Emergency Shelter Home on Wellington Road in the Manassas area.

Police said the juveniles stole a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado from a Reynolds Place home in Manassas proper before heading back to the Williamstown area of Dumfries, where one of the girls left the group.

Then, at 7:42 Tuesday morning, police began receiving multiple calls about a vehicle driving recklessly, even striking an empty vehicle on Kilpatrick Place in Dumfries without stopping, police said.

A Prince William County Police officer soon spotted the car and pursued it, but the driver didn't stop.

The vehicle was making a left from Cardinal Drive on to Choate Court when the driver lost control and crashed into a home, police said.

The four occupants fled the scene, but were captured by police.

Police also found the fifth juvenile who had parted ways with the group earlier in the morning.

Police are now interviewing the five and criminal charges are forthcoming.
