Manassas Park Man Accused of Sex Assaults While a Youth Coach in 1978

Police said a Manassas Park man sexually assaulted two boys more than 30 years ago, while he was the coach of their tee-ball baseball team.

A Manassas Park man who police said coached a children’s tee-ball team more than 30 years ago, is accused of sexually assaulting two team members when they were between 6 and 8 years old.

Dennis Reed Dyer, 58, of 9323 Laurie Ct., is charged with two counts of taking indecent liberties with a child, Prince William County Police reports show.

On Tuesday one alleged victim told police he was assaulted by his coach sometime in 1978.

The victim said he was 6 or 7 years old at the time and the assaults happened at his home.

During their investigation, police discovered a second victim who said the coach sexually assaulted him when he was 6 or 7 years old.
