Police Search for Suspect in Store Robberies

Prince William County Police ask for the public's help to find the suspects in two incidents.

Robberies at a Manassas area convenience store and a check cashing store are connected, said Prince William County Police.

Police are searching for the suspect who committed the robberies, and a second man who drove the getaway car in both incidents.

At 10:33 a.m. Friday, employees at the Super Check Cashing store on Festival Lane reported that a man had entered the business and tried to kick open an interior office door. The man did not get inside, and fled before police arrived.

At 12:21 p.m. the same day, employees at the Shell convenience store at 7025 Sudley Road reported a robbery. They said that a man had approached the counter to make a purchase, but when the clerk opened the register to give him change, the suspect reached over the counter and grabbed money. The amount stolen was not disclosed.

The man did not use a weapon and no injuries were reported. Police used a K-9 to search for the suspect, but did not find him. They do believe the same man is responsible for both incidents.

The suspect is about 20-25 years old, black, six feet tall, with a thin build and a tattoo on his chest. He was last seen wearing a gray sweater or black long-sleeve shirt, black shoes, gray sweatpants and a black baseball cap.

Police ask anyone with information to call Crime Solvers at 703-670-3700 or 1-866-411-TIPS.
