Police: Most 2011 Crashes Happened at Rt. 28, Manassas Drive

Thirteen crashes happened at the intersection of Manassas Drive and Route 28 in 2011, according to Manassas Park Police reports.

The intersection of Manassas Drive and Route 28 was the scene of the most vehicle crashes in Manassas Park in 2011, according to Insidenova reports.

Thirteen crashes reportedly happened at that intersection—more than double the number of crashes reported at Manassas Drive and Mathis Avenue—the intersection that had the second most crashes with five crashes, Manassas Police told Insidenova.

Route 28 and Blooms Quarry Road, Route 28 and Old Centreville Road and Manassas Drive and Euclid Avenue all saw four crashes last year, according to police reports.

The agency doesn’t provide data on injuries reported at intersections, but at least one person was injured in October following a car crash at Mathis and Manassas Drives.

Manassas Park fire and rescue officials said one person was injuried after a car crashed into a utlity pole, distrupting power to several homes.

That person was airlifted to a local hospital for treatment.

Manassas Park resident Jason Jerome Lewis died in July after losing control of his motorcycle near Manassas Drive and Evans Street.
