Manassas Park, Region to Switch Emergency Alerts System

As the region heads into the dangerous hurricane and summer storm season, the City of Manassas Park announced it will be replacing its emergency alerts system, along with several other jurisdictions across the region.

The new system is part of a regional change in electronic messaging. Manassas Park's Code Red system will become Manassas Park Alerts – Emergency Notification System later this month. City officials have not announced a specific date.

The new service is powered by Everbridge. The National Capital Region, a collection of jurisdictions in Virginia, Maryland and the District, chose Everbridge earlier this year to provide emergency and other communications services across the region.
