National Night Out in Manassas Park Tuesday

Manassas Park Police will partner with community to take a stand against crime.

Manassas Park residents will get a chance to take a stand against crime this week, thanks to the community’s “National Night Out.”

The night is designed as a way for communities to come together in opposition to crime, raising drug awareness and strengthening ties with local first responders in the process.

The event is held on the first Tuesday in August each year, and this year’s “Night Out” will run from 5-9 p.m. on Aug. 6., according to the City of Manassas Park’s website.

Although individual neighborhoods often host their own cookouts or block parties, the city is also sponsoring a gathering at Signal Hill Park.

At the celebration, the Manassas Park Police will have exhibits featuring their equipment and personnel, in addition to demonstrations by other civic outreach organizations and free food.
