A Manassas Park man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and hit-and-run after police found the front bumper in the back seat of his car, Manassas Park Police reports show.
Witnesses told police they saw a 2011 Ford speeding down Cougar Court just after 8 p.m. Sunday.
Police said the driver lost control of the vehicle while making a U-turn, nearly striking a sedan before hitting a 2005 Toyota.
The vehicle leftthe scene with the front bumper hanging off, but police later located the car on Lambert Drive where it was parked with the front bumper in the back seat, reports show.
The 21-year-old told police he'd been drinking before he got behind the wheel.
The suspect was taken before a magistrate court judge. He is expected to appear in court on Sept. 13.
