Manassas Man Charged With Assault on Police Officer

Police said a Manassas man was found on a stranger's couch and became combative when police arrived.

A Manassas man is facing unlawful entry charges after a Manassas Park resident came home and found him on the couch, according to a press release issued Thursday by the Manassas Park Police Department.

 It happened March 7 on the 8600 block of Brian Court when a resident came home and found someone he didn’t know sprawled on the couch, according to the press release.

 Police who responded to the scene said the suspect was under the influence of alcohol and combative.

 Jesses Homes,30, of 9210 Brentsville Rd in Manassas was arrested and charged with assault on a law enforcement officer,  unlawful entry and resisting arrest.

 Bond was set at $5,000.

 Holmes is scheduled to appear in court in April.
