IHOP Employee Charged With Embezzling Funds at Manassas Restaurant

Manassas Police said the employee worked an overnight shift at the Centreville Road IHOP location.

An IHOP employee was arrested Saturday on the suspicion he took money from the restaurant, Manassas City Police said.

Joseph Jewell, 22, of Bayberry Avenue in Manassas is charged with embezzlement and possession of a controlled substance, Manassas Police Sgt. Lowell Nevill said.

Jewell was a server working an overnight shift at the restaurant located at 8785 Centreville Road when he allegedly took cash, according to police.

When police arrested Jewell he had a small amount of heroin on him, Nevill said.

He remains in custody at the adult detention center in Prince William County.

No bond has been set, but he is scheduled to appear in court on June 10.
