Visit the New Friday Farmers' Market in Manassas Park

Visit the new Smart Markets farmers' market Friday, Nov. 9 and every Friday through December, 3:30-6:30 p.m. at the empty lot next to the Manassas Park City Hall.

In response to public demand and with tremendous support from the leaders and staff of Manassas Park, Smart Markets is bringing you an all-local, producer-only farmers' market in the heart of Manassas Park.  We will be open starting Friday, Nov. 9, and every Friday through December at the empty lot next to the City Hall property from 3:30-6:30 p.m. The City will provide us with great lighting, and you will be able to park in the City Hall parking lot where the lovely arbor is.

Uncle Fred's BBQ will join us next week; he had a previous commitment today. Pizzeria Moto will be on hand and will put that wood-fired oven to good use, turning out great, made-from-scratch pizza for your Friday evening dinner.

Jacob Horst of Windmill Meadows Farm will be with us and will bring luscious Trickling Springs dairy products and grass-fed, free-range meats and country eggs. He can also take orders for local turkeys at the best prices around for hormone- and antibiotic-free turkeys. They're better than organic because they are local and you can ask the farmer how they were raised.

Doug Linton of Angelic Beef will bring wonderful Piedmontese beef, Max Tyson and Tyson Farms and Jose Montoya will bring fruits and vegetables of the season, and you can also pick up salsa for the weekend, empanadas to have on hand for lunch or dinner, and a full range of Great Harvest breads.  Shelby Biancaniello of Cakes by Shelby will bring cake pops for all occasions, and we will all be pleasantly surprised to learn the flavor of her cake of the day. And we will have the best pasta you ever ate, handmade by our favorite Italian bon vivant, Gianni Cavanna. It's a revelation unless you make your own pasta or have spent your life eating in the best Italian restaurants.

Please visit the Smart Markets tent at the market to sign up for our newsletter and to pick up seasonal recipes. You can also sign up for our weekly newsletter at our website. Our recipes will give you some great ideas for Thanksgiving -- try something new and local this year.
