Leaky roof? Drafty windows? Habitat can help

Are you or someone you know in need of home repairs but can’t afford the material and labor costs? If so, Habitat for Humanity may be able to give you a hand up.

Habitat for Humanity partners with low-income homeowners who live in Prince William County, Manassas and Manassas Park to make exterior and interior home repairs that alleviate critical health, life and safety issues or housing code violations. Habitat’s three home repair programs include Critical Home Repair, Home Preservation and Weatherization.

Critical Home Repair and Critical Home Repair for Veterans
Through our Critical Home Repair program, critical systems that impact health and safety are repaired, replaced or built for families who could not otherwise afford to accomplish these tasks. Critical home repairs include the repair or replacement of major home systems including roofing, siding, windows, heating and air conditioning, plumbing or electrical systems, or providing accessibility accommodations such as wheelchair ramps.

Home Preservation
Habitat for Humanity’s Home Preservation program focuses on exterior repairs including the replacement and repair of trim, gutters, soffit, fascia, siding, handrails, fences, stoops, landscaping and other surfaces.

Weatherization
Weatherization aims to reduce energy costs for low-income homeowners by sealing drafty windows and doors, installing insulation, insulating or repairing pipes and air ducts and installing programmable thermostats. There may even be a need to repair or replace the heating and cooling systems or replace inefficient appliances. Cost savings in utility consumption is in line with Habitat’s mission of helping people achieve affordable homeownership.
