EXIT Realty Makes Huge Impact at Woodbridge Park

In June, Exit Realty became a Cornerstone Sponsor of Habitat for Humanity Prince William County's Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative with a generous gift of $50,000.

Their sponsorship is helping to fund home repairs for six local low-income homeowners. As part of their sponsorship, more than 50 EXIT Realty team members volunteered on Saturday, Oct. 12, for a work day at the home repair project of Thomas Glascoe and on Sunday, Oct. 13, at a community development and beautification project at Marumsco Acre Lake Park in Woodbridge.

At the park on a rainy and chilly Sunday, volunteers from EXIT Realty cleared overgrown shrubs, picked up trash from the park and the pond, mulched all the planters and several areas around the park, planted sustainable plants, trimmed overgrown branches, painted the pavilions and repaired broken fencing.

The Prince William County Department of Public Works and Department of Parks and Recreation also joined the effort by providing staff, equipment and tools. The Woodbridge Potomac Communities Civic Association provided $500 toward sustainable plants to beautify the landscape.

At 3:00 p.m. a Cornerstone Celebration was held which recognized EXIT for their generosity and community spirit. The program included remarks from Nancy Shaver, Regional Owner, EXIT Realty Virginia; Woodbridge Supervisor, Frank PrincipiJohn Karhnak of the Woodbridge Potomac Communities Civic Association; John McBride, Chair, Habitat for Humanity Prince William County Board of Directors; and Traci DeGroat, President/CEO of Habitat for Humanity Prince William County.
