Manassas Park Electric Provider Honored for Commitment to Safety

The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) recognized Manassas-based Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative for its ongoing commitment to safety in the workplace and in the field as a provider of electric service to utility customers in Northern Virginia.

Stan Feuerberg, NOVEC president and CEO, accepted the Rural Electric Safety Achievement Program certificate at a meeting of the Virginia, Maryland & Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives (VMDAEC) in April in Staunton, Va.

“Everyone is aware how dangerous electric utility line work can be,"  VMDAEC Executive Vice President Richard Johnston told the crowd at the meeting.

" A rock-solid commitment to safety is essential every second dedicated individuals are working to build or maintain electric lines. But this certificate doesn’t just recognize a commitment to safety by line workers; it recognizes that everyone at NOVEC, from board members and senior managers to every office worker, and of course every lineman is committed to carrying out their work safely. We applaud NOVEC for this commitment.”

NOVEC, a not-for-profit supply and distribution electric utility corporation, also services customers in Fairfax, Fauquier, Loudoun, Prince William, Stafford, and Clarke counties as well as the Town of Clifton.
