Clarke's Lands Concessions Deal at Signal Bay

Clarke's Grill to provide pizza this summer at Signal Bay Water Park.

The  vendor contract to provide food at Signal Bay Water Park this summer was awarded to one of Manassas Park’s own.

Clarke's Grill & Sports Emporium of Andrew Drive won the bid to provide concessions this summer, Manassas Park Director of Parks and Recreations Catherine Morretta told city council this month.

Council members approved the bid agreement April 5.

Clarke's was awarded the bid over Ledo’s pizza on Liberia Avenue in Manassas, Morretta said.

The department extended its bid advertisement period and received those two bids.

Internal staff reviewed the applications and decided both bids were competitive, but they concluded that Clarke's has a little bit more experience in a concession-type environment and stronger restaurant experience, she told council.

"We couldn't be happier, extremely excited and can't wait to kick the season off,” Clarke Congdon co-owner of Clarke's said.

The restaurant will be providing pizza delivery to the park which is expected to open May 28.  The park will be open weekends only until June 19.

The season ends Sept. 5.

On a side note, Manassas Park Mayor Frank Jones told council the operators of Ledo’s were originally interested in opening the restaurant in Manassas Park.  Ledo’s ended up opening on Liberia Avenue in Manassas because the owner of the rental property in Manassas Park wouldn’t call them back.
