More than three dozen concertgoers had to be hospitalized during an Avicii concert in Boston on Wednesday night. The Swedish disc jockey will be performing at the Jiffy Lube Live amphitheater Sunday night.
Boston.com reports the incident was declared a "Phase 2 Mass Casualty Incident," with victims taken out of TD Garden on stretchers. There were no life-threatening injuries and most of the cases appear related to intoxication or drug use, according to The Boston Herald.
Mike Bosse, Boston EMS deputy superintendent, told reporters that 50 people were treated or evaluated at the scene.
Avicii tweeted later: "Just hearing the awful news abt tonight. Its a terrible thing, I rly hope everyone is ok! My thoughts go to those affected & their families."
Concertgoer Chanel Andre told CNN that the TD Garden was hot. "These concerts should be outside," she said.
WBZ Boston reports that some of those transported to the hospital were outside of the venue and were too intoxicated to be allowed to enter the concert.
