VRE Collecting 'Toys for Tots' on Trains on Wednesday

The commuter rail service will collect new, unwrapped toys for underprivileged children on Wednesday.

Virginia Railway Express riders may bring a new, unwrapped toy on the train with them Wednesday morning to donate to the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program.

Passengers should leave the toy on the seat just prior to leaving the train; conductors will gather the toys when the train reaches the storage yard, VRE officials said in a press release.

Gift cards and checks will also be accepted. Checks should be made payable to "Toys for Tots."
