Track Work Could Cause VRE Delays This Week
Work on Manassas Line tracks could cause delays this week.
There could be some delays on the Virginia Railways Express Manassas Line this week, due to work on the tracks, VRE officials said this month.
Norfolk Southern is slated to began replacing ties on the track that connects the Norfolk Southern line to the CSX line on Monday.
That work will take place just South of Alexandria and will cause some speed restrictions and single tracking, but VRE officials said it's not clear if any delays will happen as a result of the work.

The work is scheduled to be completed on Thursday. At that time, slow orders will be put on the track until proper tonnage passes. VRE officials said they are working with Norfolk Southern and CSX to ensure the commuter trains move as fast as possible this week.
