Family Friendly Events For The Week

This week's events for the family in the Manassas Park area.

Looking for something fun to do? It might rain this week, but there are plenty of events going on around Manassas Park to help you escape the weather. Here are a few:

  • Head out to the Prince William County Fair every day until Aug. 20 and enjoy rides, shows and competitions. Gates open at 3 p.m. Wednesday-Friday and open at 12 p.m. on Sunday.
  • Head over to the Central Community Library and pick up August’s monthly mind bender contest form and complete it with the whole family.  This month’s topic is “Fun at the Beach.” You could win a new book if you submit your correct answers. The contest ends on Aug. 31.
  • Find some treats at the Manassas Farmers’ Market in Old Town Manassas on Aug. 18 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Aug. 20 from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Join Sandy Sylver at Bull Run Regional Library for the Crazy Gibberish and the ChaChaCha event on Aug. 17 at 10:30 a.m.
  • Join Sandy Sylver at Central Community Library for the SQ Finale on Aug. 17 at 3 p.m.
  • Make a “Fluttering Butterflies” craft during the Together at Twilight series at Bull Run Regional Library on Aug. 17 at 7 p.m. 
  • Support the local middle and high schools by attending a sporting event:
    • Osbourn Park High School varsity field hockey scrimmage vs. North Stafford High School on Aug. 18 at 9 a.m.
    • Osbourn High School volleyball scrimmage at Brentsville District High School on Aug. 18 at 5 p.m.
    • Osbourn High School football scrimmage at Stafford High School on Aug. 18 at 6 p.m.
    • Osbourn High School field hockey scrimmage at Centreville High School on Aug. 18
    • Osbourn High School field hockey vs. Wakefield High School on Aug. 23 at 7 p.m.
