Community Day Planned for Saturday

The Manassas Park Department of Parks and Recreation will host community day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Manassas Park Community Center.

On Saturday, residents are invited to the Manassas Park Community Center to mingle with friends, family and neighbors and enjoy some of the best that Manassas Park has to offer.

There are a number of activities planned for the day including fitness demonstrations and assessments. There will also be safety information sessions about swimming pools, home fires and driving.

In the morning the Miracle League Youth season will hold a game to kick off their second season. There will be a “Battle of the Bands” competition for teen bands vying to be the best in the city.

This is the first community day hosted by the community center. Tony Thomas, recreation services supervisor of athletics said they are expecting several hundred people to attend.

Clarke's Grill and Sports Emporium and Snowie Shaved Ice will sell food at the event. Local businesses will also be there to give out information about their organizations.
