Free ESL course begins Sept. 10

MANASSAS PARK, Va. – Registration is being accepted now for a free course teaching English as a second language (ESL). The first class is Tuesday, Sept. 10, in the Manassas Park Community Center, located at 99 Adams Street.

Classes will be held every Tuesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Dec. 12. A certified instructor will teach the course, and classroom materials will be provided.

The House of Mercy, a nonprofit humanitarian organization in Manassas, is sponsoring the 14-week course, which is open to all who are interested, according to House of Mercy Assistant Director Ann Cimini. There are no income requirements, and participants do not need to be Manassas Park residents.

To register for the course, sign up at the Manassas Park Community Center or contact the House of Mercy, located at 8170 Flannery Court in Manassas.
