Yeah, It's Possible: Former Footballer Loves New Chick Flick, "Something Borrowed"
Movie review of "Something Borrowed"
First, I should probably state that yours truly was an all-area running back and middle line backer in high school. Having said that, I am a fan of romantic comedies aka chick flicks. I own several on DVD and will be adding one more to my collection. The film "Something Borrowed" is the screen adaptation of Emily Giffin's novel of the same name.
The film stars a few of my favorite up and coming actors: John Krisanski (from "The Office" fame as Ethan and Ginnifer Goodwin (from HBO's Big Love as Margene 3rd wife) as Rachel. In addition, Kate Hudson plays the selfish and materialistic Darcy and Collin Egglesfield as Dex. The film is a classic case of fear of rejection holding somoene back from the love and life they should be living. Rachel and Darcy are best friends who's loves lives get tangled in a six year long unrequited romance. As usual, Ethan (Jim Krisanski) plays part of the comic relief as he did in "It's Complicated". The film has a ton of great laughs and a great suprise ending. This is a great date movie or like I, see it with a great friend.
After seeing this film, a good friend of mine gave me copies of both Emily Griffin books. Hopefully the Hollywood gods will create a screen adaption of the follow up "Something Blue" in which we continue the adventures of Darcy, Ethan, Rachel and Dex.
